How do I use Reassess?
Reassess is simple and easy to use!
In order to access the tool, please log in to your FutureFuel.io account. Once you log in, you will see Reassess located in the top right corner of the navigation bar. Please select Reassess.
Once you are on the Reassess page, you’ll need to input your tax filing status, number of dependents, income, and state of residence. Then, you’ll need to add your federal loan information using one of the methods. We recommend syncing your loans automatically to speed up the enrollment process by up to three times and allow us to keep you updated on your application’s status. After you add this information, click Submit and your results will populate!
The plans that you are eligible for will be labeled as Eligible in green. Any plans that you do not qualify for based on the information you provided will be labeled as Ineligible in grey.
Each option will show you how your loan will change in terms of the monthly payment, repayment term, total paid and the amount forgiven if you qualify for PSLF.
To enroll in a different plan, click the Switch button and go through the enrollment process. If you synced your loans automatically earlier on, then your application will be sent electronically. If you added your federal loan information with an FSA ID or a MyStudentData file, then we give you two options for applying to switch plans: automatic and manual. If you choose to apply by syncing your loans automatically, this will prompt an electronic submission. Enrolling in a new plan electronically is up to three times faster than enrolling manually, and we’ll be able to keep you notified every step of the way.
Keep in mind that the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 was signed into law on March 11, 2021 and caused some changes to certain repayment plans. Section 9675 of the bill includes a provision to make any student loan forgiveness passed between December 31, 2020 and January 1, 2026 tax-free.
